So I wake up yesterday. I drag myself out of bed, and go to church. After church, Matt and waste about an hour and a half looking for a U-Haul location that doesn't exist, and then fighting the last minute Mother's day shoppers at Wal-Mart to get some drinks and a really big cardboard box. We come home, and bad stuff that I'd rather not talk about happened. After an hour and a half of sulking, I crawl to my desk, and boot up Gamma. I check my usual haunts.

A Daily Deviation. Say what? No, I've never gotten one in a community this large, and needless to say, I was completely floored. I took a screen grab of the page, and even though being an unsubscribed twerp, I couldn't put it in my journal, I felt happy.

All in all, the DD get my something like 4,000 pages views, 600 favorites, 90 comments, and 20 new watchers. I'm still reeling. Thank you, ~sweetclub for nominating me, and thank you to everyone who favorited, commented, and watched me yesterday!

I understand that this is a very feeble excuse for not having submitted anything arty lately, but I'm still trying to move, and I need monies like Willy Wonka needs ostentatious hats.

No VoS updates, save for minor typo corrections, and updated commission information. I've been far too busy with everything else I've got going on to try catching up with the gallery, but I'm haranguing my buddies for affiliate banners.

I figure I'll move contact info to the "About Me" section. Any ideas what I should do with the extra page? I guess that's all. I really need to be sewing right now, but I must instead clean like a maniac, as the in-laws are coming for the weekend. A happy Mother's Day to you all, and a random bit of advice: If you ever use white chocolate ganache for anything, dye it. Seriously. White chocolate is such a misnomer, and the particular shade of yellow it dries as in ganache form is one of the most unappetizing colors I've ever laid eyes on.

Visions of Sugar

Friggin' finally. I've only put my entire life off while working on this thing. But I'm happy. I've wanted my own website for a long, long, time, and it's satisfying to have done it myself. The gallery's incomplete, as it only encompasses things I've done this year, but I'll work on adding to it when I catch up with all the other stuff I was supposed to be doing. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go vacuum and do dishes, and find an apartment to move into in July.

Matt's been sick all week, and he's running temperatures everywhere between 97.1 and 101.7, but is constantly cold, so here I sit slow roasting in shorts and a tank top, but feeling totally geek chic, having created my first webpage entirely in notepad. Oh, yeah. Who's got way too much time on 'er hands? Mie does. Mie's got too much time on her hands.

Anyway, if you actually go to the site, nothing really works yet, save for the first two art gallery images, but it's slooooowly coming along. As I was telling ~aducknamedhope, for every image, I have to make a thumbnail, and upload it to the thumbnail folder, size the image appropriately for browser-viewing and bandwidth mercy, and upload those. Then I have to create the full view page, and upload that, and then I have to edit the gallery inline and re-upload that. And my art folder is a mighty 6.6GB. That's just the art gallery. So.... yeah, that's not gonna be "over construction" for a loooong, long, time.
